Antique Coalport Adelaide Cake Plate, c.1840

A lovely hand painted cake/sandwich plate of 19th Century produced by Coalport in 1840, 'Adelaide' shape with ‘Blue Phoenix’ pattern. Very early Victorian plate which, although unmarked with the makers name, known being made at the Coalport factory by its famous shape and pattern number 4/375.
Under glazed blue motifs of stylized phoenix, beige yellow ground and highlighted in gilt. Width is 26cm (10.2inches). Depth is 23cm (9.1inches). Perfect antique condition.
